Redución del estrés y de la ansiedad en la escuela por medio de la practica del Tai Chi Chuan

Resumen

El número de personas con síntomas de estrés y de ansiedad viene creciendo de manera continua y consistente. Estos fenómenos también están presentes en las escuelas, llevando a los estudiantes a presentar problemas de aprendizaje. Estas manifestaciones se caracterizan por la pérdida de la homeostasia, que lleva al cuerpo a entrar en estado de alerta. En vista de ello es importante estudiar alternativas no medicamentosas de control del estrés y de la ansiedad. Como las prácticas contemplativas, por ejemplo el Tai Chi Chuan. El Tai Chi Chuan es un antiguo arte marcial terapéutico chino que viene siendo estudiado como auxiliar en la reducción del estrés y la ansiedad. El objetivo dese estudio fue verificar si el Tai Chi Chuan e capaz de disminuir el estrés y la ansiedad en niños de la enseñanza fundamental. Para alcanzar este objetivo implementamos una metodología que consistió en reclutar voluntarios de 2 grupos del 9º. año de la enseñanza fundamental, componiendo un grupo de 34 estudiantes (16 del sexo masculino y 18 del sexo femenino, como promedio de edad de 14 años). Aleatoriamente una clase fue elegida para ser la prueba. Esta practicó el Zhanzhuang, un ejercicio básico del estilo Chen de Tai Chi Chuan y la otra clase, a control, realizó ejercicios de estiramiento. Los ejercicios fueron ofrecidos 3 veces por semana, con sesiones de 20 minutos, durante el mismo turno de las clases. Se realizaron 20 sesiones durante los meses de agosto a octubre de 2017. Para evaluar los niveles de ansiedad se aplicaron las pruebas IDATE Traza y Estado, y se aplicó la prueba ESI - Escala de estrés infantil para medir los niveles de estrés. Estas pruebas se aplicaron en dos momentos: previa intervención y pos intervención. Los resultados obtenidos sugieren que la práctica del Tai Chi Chuan disminuyó el estrés en el grupo de pruebas, pero no disminuyó la ansiedad en este grupo. Después de la aplicación de las pruebas pos-intervención se aplicó un cuestionario para evaluar la percepción de los estudiantes sobre los ejercicios y la percepción de las clases fue muy positiva, manifestando, incluso que estas intervenciones les habrían ayudado a mejorar el rendimiento en el aula y durante las evaluaciones. Concluimos que o Tai Chi Chuan fue eficaz para la gestión del estrés en el contexto escolar.
