Abstract

In this article, we present the experiences and reflections regarding an Extension Project, which investigated students’ learning process and the relationships established between the school, the family and the community in order to contribute to the improvement of life quality and students’ educational achievement through entertaining workshops. To perform the study, references from Pichon-Rivière were used regarding operative groups. Also, studies from Lev Vygotsky, who understands the joke on interdependence between development and learning were used. The study was performed with nine students from 1st to 4th year of Elementary School in a school located in São João del-Rei. They were chosen by the school because there were records of learning difficulty. Interventions provided: new meaning of the students’ way to face the possible difficulties experienced on the educational process, making them more interested in learning; improvement of their affective-cognitive and social capabilities, as well as promoting a better interaction with their colleagues and familiarity with school knowledge. Therefore, in our practice we tried to apply the proposals and conceptions of Educational and School Psychology, considering students in their differences and their place in social relations in which their development happens. From this understanding, we tried to develop strategies, together with the students, that optimized the learning process.
