Abstract

This study we analyzed how university applicants from the state of Pernambuco understand Chemistry in the Final Stretch (QRF in Portuguese) project, a service course that prepares Chemistry students for Federal University entrance examination, using the following didactic tools: parody music, experimentation, playful activities and videos. Data were collected by means of a questionnaire. They were interpreted by constructing a graph and were based on categorizations that emerged from the analysis, considering the similarities in student responses. The discussion involved the current ideas of didactic science about the use of the mentioned didactic tools. Participants reported the effectiveness of the work developed by project; a high degree of satisfaction with the classes given; suggested the greater use of didactic tools; perceived the relationship between Chemistry and daily situations; were more interested in studying Chemistry; and encouraged future editions QRF project.
