DEVELOPING ACTIONS AND BUILDING KNOWLEDGE: THE MOVIES AS SOCIOPOLITICAL PRAXIS

Abstract

The present report aims at exposing the activities and field experiences developed by undergraduate students in Social Sciences (UFRN) in the Village of Ponta Negra (Natal/RN). Such activities happened during the first and second semesters in 2010, through Debate-movies in the Neighborhoods project, offered by the course, according to ACC - Activity Curricular in Community subject. So, the construction of a place that made possible to the pupils the realization of the outreach activities was principal directive of the project. Such activities were taken by the students, expectingtouse movies as a means in the construction of youknowleges, adopting f the development of the actions a practice, social and political, of critical dimension and of transformation as important axis. With effect, the the project third edition made such proposals real, making use of movies in an engaged way, tried critically to produce practical alterations in the Village, while they were built, in the learning process.. The methodology used by the group focused dialogue and the communication (FREIRE, 1967; 1970) as fundamental slopes of equalities construction, important step for he development actions . In a general way, in whole the process, challenges and social and human realities of transformations difficult, but, truly, overcome were evidenced.
