Abstract

Hospital Pharmacotechnics is an area that can contribute significantly to the quality of pharmaceutical care provided to patients. In order to meet the needs of the University Hospital Getúlio Vargas (HUGV), the project aimed to highlight the role of the pharmaceutical professional in the care of patients through the manipulation of semi-solid pharmaceutical forms for topical use. The work was carried out in partnership with the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences (FCF) / Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM) through the Extension Pro-Rectory. The formulations were manipulated according to the National Formulary of Pharmaceutical Formulas of the Brazilian Pharmacopoeia, being chosen for this work the manipulation in gel of papain 2% and 10%, water-in-oil emulsion  Lanette base and added with zinc oxide 10% and urea 10%. These formulations are promotoras in the patient care cycle, acting in the prevention and treatment of possible events related to common pressure ulcers in hospitalized patients. The action allowed the manipulation of more than one hundred pharmaceutical forms by the students of the course of pharmacy. In addition, the amount of purchased supplies will enable to handle an additional 350 vials of the emulsions and at least 630 10% papain syringes or approximately 3190 2% papain syringes. Therefore, the project highlighted the actions of the hospital pharmacist in the area of pharmacotechnics in patient care activities.
