Abstract

Considering that the scientific approach outside the classroom can be quite promising, this article intends to show the potential of Witeck Park, located in the city of New Cabrais-RS, through an out-of-field work developed by students of the Masters in Teaching Of Exact Sciences of UNIVATES. Faced with the recurring environmental changes that human activity has been provoking in nature, there is a need to raise awareness amongst students about Environmental Education. The objective of this paper is to describe the importance of understanding main scientific aspects involved in environmental preservation. A qualitative research was carried out and concluded that field exits can be a good strategy for the teaching of Physics and the Environment. They allow students to explore the physical phenomena via direct contact with the object of study. In this way, we believe that this teaching methodology can be efficient in the training of students, help them to critically and reflexively understand the main environmental problems present in our society, and thus to seek solutions for them.
