Abstract

The supervised internship is an essential and compulsory subject in undergraduate courses. It is during the stage that there is the articulation of theory and practice in teacher education, constituting a period of experiences between the school and the university, which enables us to experience and integrate the many disciplines that make up the academic curriculum. This article seeks to reflect on the importance of the supervised internship in teacher training in the undergraduate program in Geography at São Paulo State University Campus of Rio Claro - SP. For this purpose, we used the theoretical-methodological framework of teaching and geography teaching practices, through qualitative bibliographical research in scientific articles, books, dissertations and theses, as well as documentary research (from the internship period) with selective, critical reading and analytical content. The article discusses the internship period and its problems. The theoretical and practical experiences of this internship contributed to reflect on the reality of Brazilian education and teaching. We also understand that the teaching of Geography undergoes major transformations stemming from the historical process itself and teacher education, and these factors reflect on the student's school context.
